HPL Doors

HPL Doors (High Pressure Laminate)

Door leaves laminated with high-pressure HPL for residential, commercial, and hospitality use — durable, highly resistant to moisture and scratching, with a wide range of colors and textures.

Scratch resistance per EN 438 Environmental compliance: Formaldehyde emission class E1 Tested for steam / heat / stain resistance

What is HPL?

High-pressure laminates made from phenolic-impregnated kraft papers with melamine-impregnated decorative paper, thermally pressed to form a hard surface resistant to moisture, scratching, and wear — ideal for doors in heavy-use environments.

Key Advantages

  • High resistance to moisture and scratches with good color stability under lighting.
  • Easy to clean and maintain; tolerates mild cleaners.
  • Wide variety of colors, textures, and finishes.
  • Long service life and cost efficiency over time.
  • Suitable for hotels, healthcare, schools, offices, and modern homes.

Why designers & contractors prefer it

  • Visual harmony with furniture and walls thanks to finish variety.
  • Ready-to-install without paint/varnish → faster handover.
  • Reliable and consistent quality on large projects.

HPL Door Components

  • Outer surface: decorative HPL sheets with resistance to daily wear.
  • Core: moisture-resistant MDF or particle/honeycomb board depending on use.
  • Edges & perimeter frame: solid natural wood for stiffness, anti-warp, and edge protection.

Typical Assembly Options

Adhesives & Pressing
Contact adhesive, PUR/PU, or industrial PVAc per supplier guidance; hot/cold press as per adhesive datasheet.
Edgebanding & Hardware
ABS/PVC color-matched edge bands or cut HPL strip with fine finishing; heavy-duty hinges for high-traffic areas.
Grain Direction
Align wood grain direction consistently across leaf pairs (left/right) for visual continuity.

Common Sizes & Options

Door leaf thickness: ≥ 43 mm
Thickness can be increased upon request
1220 × 2440 mm
≈ 48" × 96" — fits most standard leaves
1300 × 3050 mm
≈ 51" × 120" — reduces joints for tall doors
HPL sheet thicknesses: 0.6 – 0.8 mm
Other thicknesses available for various applications

Choose sizes to minimize waste according to door leaf and frame dimensions.

Care & Cleaning

  • Clean with a damp cotton cloth and mild cleaner, then dry.
  • Avoid abrasives and strong solvents; use a cutting board when needed.
  • Protect the surface from direct flame and localized high heat.

Preferred Applications

  • Hospitality, healthcare, education, and offices.
  • Kitchens, bathrooms, and other high-moisture, high-traffic areas.

Sustainability Notes

  • Prefer low-emission substrates (E1) and wood under FSC chain of custody.
  • Reduce material waste and improve energy efficiency in production.
